Hatton Industrial Estate, Derbyshire (for EMDA)
3 month feasibility study into potential improvements to Goods In/Out access for sole occupant of existing Industrial estate adjacent to constrained residential area. Study included consideration of financial and physical feasibility of moving goods in/out by rail and preparation of a range of potential highway access improvement proposals for further consideration by site occupant.
Birmingham International Airport (for BIA)
Negotiations with Client to determine preferred layout for new “Drop and Go” short stay car park and preparation of 'Employer's Requirements' documentation for subsequent c£1m Design and Build contract.
RAF Northolt (for Norwest Holst Limited/Ministry of Defence
Estates Limited)
Preparation of detailed design and technical approval submission for works within Section 278 Agreement between MoDEL and London Borough of Hillingdon(LBH). Works included creation of new signalised junction forming new main access into RAF base. Liaison with LBH and TfL through approval process for design submission and provision of site support services to NHL.

A5, Dunstable (for iCP Developments)
Provision of initial advice to Client in terms of means of access to potential redevelopment of former B2 site for proposed B1/B2/B8 scheme adjacent to A5 Trunk Road. Preparation of Transport Assessment including consideration of impact at M1 J9 and provision of support through planning process. Extensive negotiations with Highways Agency (HA) and their Managing Agent Contractor (MAC) as part of preparation of Section 278 Legal Agreement. Detailed design of works to remodel and widen existing signalised junction and preparation of full contract documentation for submission and approval by MAC. Liaison with HA and MAC through tender process. In addition, detailed design and technical submission of on-site Section 38 Agreement works for adoption by Bedfordshire County Council.
Weston Road, Crewe (for ProLogis Developments Limited)
Detailed design of works to create new ghost island junction on main arterial route into Crewe. Extensive discussions and negotiations with Cheshire County Council in support of Technical Approval submission. Provision of site support services during construction of works as part of Design and Build contract.
Southampton International Airport (for BAA Lynton)
Provision of ‘due diligence’ advice relating to highways aspects of purchase of 50Ha development site adjacent to airport. Advice particularly concentrated on the feasibility of constructing a link road to the site through a 150m tunnel beneath the RESA and approach/landing surfaces. Appointment subsequently included the preliminary design and initial transport modelling work for the potential £40million link road scheme. Further work then won directly from SIA to produce a Transport Assessment to support their planning application for a new 850 space long stay car park.
Whitemoor LDC (for Network Rail)
Provision of initial layout advice for means of providing a roundabout access into a proposed new rail maintenance facility and a proposed new link road forming the first phase of a March Bypass. Negotiations with Cambridgeshire County Council to agree layout of roundabout and Link Road followed by detailed design, preparation of full contract documentation and tender process. Provision of support and advice to Network Rail in their extensive negotiations with CCC for the scheme to be constructed by the Highway Authority.
New Distribution Centre and Resource Recovery Unit, East Kilbride (for Kilmartin Properties/Sainsburys)
Provision of initial layout advice for means of providing a roundabout access and 2no. bellmouths into a proposed new distribution facility and RRU for Sainsburys. Preparation of Transport Assessments to support two separate planning applications followed by detailed design and technical approval submission. Negotiations with South Lanarkshire Council leading to issue of 'Roads Construction Consent'. Provision of site support services during construction of new roundabout and bellmouth accesses as part of Design and Build contract.
Whilst with Highway Solutions Limited:-
'Extra' Motorway Service Areas – Peterborough, Cambridge and Baldock (for Extra MSA)
Detailed design of off-site highways works providing access to three new motorway service areas. Works included provision of new roundabouts for each of the sites and wide area network signage schemes on the M25/M11/A1(M)/A14. Undertook extensive negotiations with several local Highway Authorities and the Highways Agency to obtain approval to access works design and signage schemes. Preparation of full contract documentation and acted as ‘Engineer’ for implementation of the works with a combined construction value of £2.5 million using ICE 5th Conditions of Contract.
